- The Jewish thought themselves more acceptible to God because they were circumcised. Circumcision was their only boast, but they didn't really live in obedience to the 10 commandments. They sinned a lot while boasting in circumcision as compared to gentile believers.
- The circumcised Jewish believers thought they were better than the uncircumcised ones and that caused some problems which Paul needed to solve.
- The Jewish believers also boasted because the thought to themselves that the Laws of Moses were given to them by God and not to Gentiles.
